When we built our home it was designed with lots of windows and doors opening on to outdoor decking. This was a quality build and we expected to pay accordingly. However the doors and windows were a complete let-down from the beginning. Teal windows were difficult to deal with and when ever there was an issue always shifted the blame elsewhere. When the doors and windows arrived they had chatter marks and after much blame shifting Dion reluctantly agreed to replace them. The builder we chose was working on a cost plus basis and we were then left with the extra expense of having them removed, the down time involved and then refitting. We paid an extra $10,000 to have the windows treated with oil as recommended by the oil specialists. This was obviously not done properly and now we have a mould issue. Once again Dion began blame shifting. He will not look at the problem without us paying a $350 plus GST call out fee plus travelling time of $90 per hour plus GST. We had fly wire fitted to all windows and doors leading outside, these are extremely flimsy and have not been fitted to the wood properly and are now all fraying. They cannot be cleaned as any pressure and they just peel away from the wood. As the builder was the client we cannot take legal action against Teal without involving the builder and are reluctant to do so as he took pride in his workmanship and did a really good build for us. He is as disappointed in Teals response as us.

We are renovating an old farmhouse and wanted windows to match the existing ones. Jason was one of the few that took an genuine interest in our job, as we live off the beaten track. One of the best things about building is meeting awesome craftsmen. Jason is a skilled window maker, no doubt about it. I originally was going to use local blackbutt timber, but Jason advised us that it warps and moves a lot, on further investigation into this, I realised Jason was right and went with his recommendation of western red cedar, and I'm so glad I did. Nothing was too much trouble, and nothing was left to chance with Jason. Stunningly beautiful windows that make me smile every time I look at them.

Teal Windows is disappointed with the comments made in Dianne’s review. At Teal Windows cost Teal has willingly worked with the builder and the finish supplier to rectify the mould growth on the surface of Teal’s products which the finish supplier’s chemist advised is specifically related to the setting of Dianne’s house site. The same mould appears on other products at the house. Teal rectified the machine chatter on several doors at Teal’s expense in a timely manner. On inspection all fly screens were in order. Following a site visit the finish supplier has made recommendations to Dianne’s husband Martin to rectify the mould issue followed by Martin applying the finish coats. Teal Windows will continue to monitor the progress of all finish supplier’s recommendations and will always work to resolve customer issues to the satisfaction of both parties.
